The Friends of the Kershaw County Library

Did you know?

There aren’t enough dollars to fund all of the exciting educational programs and materials that our county residents need and deserve.

The Friends bridge that gap!

This is why the Friends of the Kershaw County Library was founded. Friends are passionate about helping our library be an even more vital part of our community.

Join us and make a difference!

Thank you for your interest in joining the Friends of the Kershaw County Library! Your membership helps to advocate for & support the library, fund materials & services, and even provide events for the community.

When you join us, you’ll:

  • Sponsor special library programs and workshops.
  • Sponsor the annual Summer Reading program for all ages.
  • Advocate support of strong library services for our community.
  • Receive opportunities to give back to our community and make new friends through volunteering.
  • Provide additional resources, from reading materials to furniture, that make the library an even brighter and more welcoming place for everyone.

The Friends of the Kershaw County Library holds the annual membership drive in the Spring, but we welcome new members any time of the year! Membership forms are available at any library location.

Benefits of joining include an invitation to attend a members-only preview sale for the annual book sale, a 10% discount at Books on Broad, and a discounted rate for library photocopies.

FOKCL is a 501C3 organization and membership contributions are tax deductible to the extent of the law.

Friends Board

The Friends of the Kershaw County Library board members feel a strong commitment for service to the organization. There are monthly board meetings, committee meetings, and activities as scheduled by the respective committee chairs. Members are also expected to commit time to sorting books and working at the annual book sale.
