Summer reading will be a summer experience with Kershaw Community Quest! Start your Quest today!

About the Quest
We’ve expanded the summer reading program to include many learning experiences, and it’s turned into the Kershaw Community Quest! The Quest is for children ages 0-12 and aims to get them to expand their horizons by reading, learning, exploring the community, and being active in nature. These are great ways to grow and have fun! The Quest will run from Saturday, May 18, until Wednesday, July 31. You can pick up a passport to guide your quest at any of our library locations or view (or print) it here.

How it Works

  1. Spend time reading, learning, being active, and visiting fun places. Use a passport to guide you, or check out the Beanstack site (with Beanstack, you can use an app or the site to track your progress).
  2. You will receive one point for every activity completed in the passport. Keep track of your points in the log provided at the end of the passport or in the app.
  3. After 10 points, you can pick up your well-earned prizeā€”a Kershaw Quest water bottle or a plush ball. Prizes are available for pickup at any library location or at the Revolutionary War Visitors Center.

Reading and Learning
Kids who participate in the Quest can earn some or all of their points by reading. Logging 10 points will earn a prize! Kids can log their reading time at the end of the passport or on the app.

For the little ones: Even if your child hasn’t yet mastered reading, they can embark on a thrilling journey with help. For every book read to them, they’ll earn one point.
For the young readers: For those eager minds who can’t wait to devour books on their own, we’ve got an adventure tailored just for them! Every 30 minutes spent lost in the pages of a book (or listening to an audiobook) earns them one point.

Kids can also earn points for any activity sheets completed in the passport.
