Whether you come to the library after school for a specific program, for individualized attention or to take a break for an hour, you will always find something to do.
Specific, hour-long programs meet every week. The programs vary from book and craft combos, book discussions, arts & crafts, readers theater, planting a garden, playing games, and learning life skills with staff and/or invited guests doing the teaching. Most often the programs are free of charge; occasionally we may ask you to register. Check the calendar of events to see what is happening each week at your branch.
For some, the library can be rather intimidating, but it shouldn’t be! It’s not that hard to understand once you’ve been introduced to it. We’ll give you or your group a tour, show you how to search the catalog and find a book, get you a library card if you need one, and introduce you to different resources in the collection. If you want to go further, we can teach you how to find specific kinds of information in the types of materials available here.
Then, when we’re finished, we’ll have a scavenger hunt!
