Community Outreach

Dive into summer with the Outreach team at Kershaw County Library! Ms. Hanna, our regular bookmobile lady, has been teaming up with Ms. Lauren, Children’s Librarian, and Ms. Karina, KCL’s Social Worker. This summer, we’re bringing the books to you in our NEW Outreach Van and the Bookmobile. We’ll be traveling to varying apartment complexes, churches, outdoor events, and even daycares and parks to bring out the books. We’re excited to be able to sign-up folks for library cards and summer reading, check out books and DVDs, and even give away free books at food bank sites and at KCSD’s summer food program.

This summer we’re also going to be taking crates of books to local camps: Kershaw County Recreation Department’s summer camps and Kershaw County School District’s Read to Succeed camps. We’re bringing the camps much-needed summer reading books and we’ll also sign-up kids for the library’s summer reading program.

Don’t miss your opportunity to check us out on the go. We’ll have a pop-up storytime at Potter Park on June 21 at 3 PM and Boyd Young Park (Westville Ball Field) on June 23 at 10:30 AM. Come to our events and sign up for summer reading! We’ll also do an end-of-summer storytime at Potter Park (August 16 at 3 PM) and Westville Ball Field (August 18 at 10:30 AM) where you can listen along or pick up your summer prize (a free book of your choice) when you show us your completed reading log! You can also enter our grand prize drawings to win a basket of picture books, box sets of Rick Riordan/Disney books, or a $50 Books on Broad gift card.
