Roll Con 2021

Kershaw County Library to Host Roll Con in November

Camden, SC – Kershaw County Library will host its first-ever Roll Con on Saturday, November 13, from Noon to 5 PM at the Kershaw County Recreation Department. Roll Con is a gaming convention celebrating board and card games, video games, role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, and more.

Roll Con will feature game demonstrations, contests, vendors, and food trucks. Firefly Games, a gaming store located in Columbia, will demo lots of board games and host a tournament at 2 PM. Pokemon fans can meet their larger-than-life Pikachu, who will appear at 1 PM and 4 PM.  Midlands Gaming Coalition, a local nonprofit that hosts esports events, will have two gaming consoles set up with games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Rocket League. There will also be the opportunity to use a giant chess set, learn about ancient strategy games, check out the library’s new collection of Manga titles, and participate in “pickup” Dungeons and Dragons campaigns. Vendors include local artist Mike Sudduth, Unlovely Frankenstein, Random Acts of Karma, The Little DM Shop, and Sudduth Sundries. Refreshments are available onsite from food trucks, including Metro Street Grille.

Participants can win prizes by entering a raffle for a basket of games and books (one entry for every board game or monetary donation to the Elgin Library Board Game Drive). Also, free kids and teen books are available to anyone who completes a “vendor passport” (while supplies last).  Winners of the adult and kid cosplay contests at 3 PM will get trophies (and lots of applause).

Roll Con will be at the Kershaw County Recreation Department at 1042 West DeKalb Street in Camden. Parking and entry are free.
