Material Donations

*The Kershaw County Library is currently not taking material donations at this time. Bookmark this page or follow our Facebook page to see when donations open again. We thank you so much for thinking of us and once we get more room for donations, we’ll let the community know!*

Support Kershaw County Library by donating your lightly used books and other items.

Friends Book Sale Items:

You may drop them off at the donation bin at the back of the Camden Library, or if you are closer to the Elgin or Bethune Branches you may drop them off there.  If you have more than a few boxes, please call ahead.

What can you donate?

Gently used books in good condition. Hardcover, softcover, fiction or non-fiction are all accepted.  We can also accept DVDs, CDs, and audiobooks in good condition.

What not to donate?

We cannot accept textbooks/reference books, encyclopedias, magazines, or materials which are in poor physical condition.

Your donations of gently used books help the Friends to provide much-needed funds for the library. The Friends help to sponsor summer reading programs, fund purchases of audiobooks and eBooks for our digital collection and help to purchase books, DVDs, and CDs for the library collection.

Items other than books, DVDs, and CDs:

Please contact the director, Amy Schofield, if you wish to make donations other than materials for the Friends’ book sale.  Click here for the library’s donation policy.
